The Embassy of Israel in partnership with the Holocaust and Genocide Centre and Yad Vashem are hosting a series of educational Holocaust workshops for hundreds of South African educators across South Africa. The workshops will be led by David Deutsch who holds a PHD in sociology and anthropology and is currently the Desk Head of International Seminars in English at the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem.

The extensive workshops will focus on assisting educators to develop tools to educate their learners on the history of the Holocaust as per the government curriculum in South Africa.

It has never been more important for the youth of South Africa to be educated on antisemitism and the history of the Jewish people who perished in the Holocaust. As antisemitism rises across the globe, education has become increasingly important to mitigate racism, xenophobia and antisemitism especially for our youth. Ambassador Lior Keinan said, "Israel will continue to lead the fight against the rise of antisemitism around the world."
